Schoology

DSIS uses Schoology as our learning management system (LMS), Schoology for students in grades 7 to 12. Schoology enables our students, parents and teachers to engage with learning materials and their school community from the classroom and beyond. We look forward to using Schoology in our courses to enhance connectivity and communication across our school. With Schoology, students can digitally submit homework assignments, review grades, participate in interactive discussions, receive announcements and feedback, take tests, write academic blogs, and more. Schoology is similar to what students will use at all colleges and universities upon graduation. As a parent, you will be able to view your child’s activity within the platform.

We value your participation in your child’s education, and we encourage you to read Schoology’s Privacy Policy & Terms of Use at https://www.schoology.com/privacy.php.

A few key features of Schoology include:

  • Students can view course assignments, grades and specific feedback from their teachers.
  • Students can collaborate with their peers from home via discussion boards.
  • Students have access to course materials 24 hours a day no matter where they are via the internet or the Schoology mobile app on their smart phones.
  • No more confusion about due dates! Students can check due dates any time, and connect their email/smartphone/other digital calendaring devices directly to Schoology so they will know immediately if dates change!
  • Students can connect their Google Drive accounts directly making turning in assignments simple, and eliminating the need for Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
  • Parents are able to view student progress, assignment due dates and overdue notifications.
